Ephesians: The Gospel in Everyday Life

2.4.18 - Ephesians 2:11-22

Part of the cosmic reconciliation produced by the Gospel is the coming together of believing Jews and Gentiles into one people-the church! This horizontal reconciliation is the result of the vertical reconciliation created by the Cross! God's rescue plan, promised throughout the Old Testament, had always included the salvation of the nations through the offspring of Abraham! In Christ, God's rescue plan for the world has reached its fulfillment! In today's church, we must be on guard against drawing any type of lines, racial or economical that would prohibit true believers in Christ (those marked by repentance from sin and faith in Jesus) from being a part of our local church community. The common denominators that unite God's people-the church-have always included the same Lord, Spirit and baptism (Ephesians 4:4-6), and never skin color or bank account. May MCC be a place where the unity produced by the Gospel is powerfully displayed for the glory of God! And may the beautiful vision of Revelation 7:9-10 move us to joyfully join together in God's Great Commission work of reaching the nations with the Gospel!
