The Psalms: Patterns for Prayer & Pointers to Christ

5.27.18 - Psalm 2 - The Promise of the Messiah!

Psalm 2 resonates with Gospel hope! One can imagine the excitement felt by the original audience when this psalm was read aloud at the ascension of a new king. Psalm 2 speaks of the defeat of God's enemies, the righteous rule of the Messiah, God's worldwide mission, and peace! Not until Christ would this beautiful psalm find its fulfillment! The long awaited King has come! The royal decree has been evidenced and announced by the resurrection of the Son of God: Jesus is King! How have you responded? Have you heeded God's warning (vs. 10)? Have you bowed the knee, stepped off the throne, and committed your life to King Jesus? If so, praise God! And yet one question remains: What are you doing to make others aware of this Good News? Who are you telling? May we respond to God's Word today with a sense of urgency, being reminded that those who don't hear the Gospel and don't respond by repenting and believing, will perish eternally as objects of God's wrath! May MCC be a church committed to the King and His mission!
