The Psalms: Patterns for Prayer & Pointers to Christ

6.10.18 - Psalm 19 - The God Who Graciously Makes Himself Known!

Psalm 19 is a praise psalm. In it the Lord is exalted for His glorious revelation through both His creation and His Word. When was the last time you paused to observe a sunset, or a starry sky, or a mountain peaked horizon? These things are God's handiwork and are meant to lead humanity to awe and wonder! More than that, we have the Word of God! As we see in Psalm 19, God's Word restores, gives wisdom, and leads to a right view of God and humanity! Simply put, the One True God, who is revealed both in His creation and the Bible is a God who graciously makes Himself known. The climax of this revelation appears in the gospels with the advent of Jesus Christ! The Lord graciously reveals Himself so that we might know Him and praise Him! Take time to praise God today for His gracious and glorious revelation! And remember this: As God's people, saved by grace, we are now tasked with revealing this holy and loving God through the proclamation of the Gospel!
