1 John: Assurance through Allegiance & Abiding

1.13.19 - 1 John 3:11-18

Please pray with me that MCC would be a church marked by Christ-like love. According to our passage for today (1 John 3:11-18), and specifically vs. 16, love is voluntarily and sacrificially pursuing the good of others for the glory of God! This is how Christ has loved us, and this is how we are called to love one another. When we love like this we give evidence of the new birth, and thus our new nature. When we love like this we supremely honor King Jesus, because we are imitating Him. When we love like this we are obeying Him who has all authority in heaven and on earth. This love flows out of the Gospel and is evidence of the Gospel at work in God's people. Again, let's pray that the love revealed in the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross would characterize God's church at MCC for the maturity of God's people and the glory of the King! Amen!
