What is the Church?

10.9.16 Sermon - 1 Peter 4:7-11

As we conclude the 4-part series on "What Is The Church?", the Big Idea for this final segment is this: Christians are rescued to proclaim and practice the gospel. Simply put, the mission of the church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We have a life-transforming message, that if embraced by faith, moves people from darkness to light, from spiritual death to spiritual life and into a relationship with the God of the universe. How are you currently pursuing this mission? What people in your own relational world are you praying for? How are you planning to engage them with the message of the gospel? In what ways are you allowing them to see the gospel at work in your own life? Finally, are you proclaiming to them the gospel, the message of love, hope and forgiveness and rescue? We have a mission! Let's get to it!
